We continue with our walk through Ginza, a premiere shopping district of Tokyo. This historical neighborhood is lined with numerous buildings constructed in the early 20th century. We visit a facility called the “Kabukiza Gallery” located above the iconic “Kabukiza Theatre”.

But, it’s said that waters surrounding the country may hold reserves of 2.7 trillion dollars at depths of more than 1,000 meters. We report on how the latest technologies are being used to search for seafloor hydrothermal deposits, including gold, silver and copper.

Japan’s Biggest Morning Market

The “Tatehana Wharf Morning Market” is held at a port in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture. It’s a massive market of about 360 shops that draws 20,000 people every Sunday. Local farmer, Takao Uemura, started the market with acquaintances 14 years ago as a place where producers could set their own prices and sell their produce. And, now, it’s become a morning market crowded with thousands of people.

A Strawberry Confectionary Shop

“Maison de Frouge” is a shop in Kyoto specializing in strawberry confections. Every single product they sell is made with strawberries. The owner, Mika Watabe, is passionate about strawberries and visits as many as five farms every week to find the best-tasting produce.

Dream Weavers: Konno Seisakujo, Part 2

Konno Seisaskujo builds custom-made “Cherubim” bicycles that can cost several thousand dollars but are so in demand that there’s a waiting list of several months. While many bicycles nowadays are built inexpensively using carbon and aluminum frames, the company president is particular about using heavier steel to make durable models.
